I am the Project Manager for the UNAVCO NW Region of the Earthscope Plate Boundary Observatory project. I manage the day to day operations of this office, and oversee the operations of the GNSS network in Washington, Oregon, Northern California, and Northern Idaho. I currently supervise employees in Oregon and Northern California that conduct maintenance, installation, upgrade and permitting activities. About half of my time is spent in the office doing planning, purchasing and scheduling. The rest of the time is spent on the road installing and repairing the GPS equipment.
The job is exciting, I get to travel, work with drilling equipment, and with helicopters in remote areas.
Like many UNAVCO employees I am very outdoor oriented. I ride and race road, mountain and cyclecross bikes in my free time. When traveling in my region by truck, you can always find me with a bike and stationary trainer, and riding at the end of the day either on the trainer or outside.
